Injury Prevention Education & Training

Bullet  Educational sessions include training in risk factors, anatomy/physiology of musculoskeletal injury, national statistics, ergonomics, proper biomechanics & work methods, personal protective equipment, job specific stretching & exercise recommendations for home/personal time.

Bullet  Session includes preparation time, power point set-up, hand-outs, outlines & class instruction by licensed/registered industrial therapist.

Functional Job Analysis

Bullet  A job analysis will be required prior to the start/preparation for education/training programs for your employees.
Bullet  This includes on-site analysis of the daily essential functions/physical demand level for the designated department(s) at company's site.
Bullet  The job analysis will include formal weights, measures, frequencies, repetitions & forces required to complete required job functions.
Bullet  The job analysis will include digital photography & video, associate interview/interaction to accurately capture all aspects of jobs.
Bullet  A job analysis summary page can be devised for return-to-work approval by task for physicians reviewing job of injury or offered transitional /modified duty jobs.

Pre-Placement Essential Function Testing:

Bullet  Pre-placement / post offer essential function testing is used prior to your employee starting employment.
Bullet  Functional assessments are used to determine if the prospective employee can physically perform job-specific activities/essential job functions of job in application.
Bullet  This testing evaluates flexibility, strength, functional mobility/agility, posture, body mechanics with lifting and work performance of all essential job functions/simulations.
Bullet  Testing will provide blood pressure screening and education in body mechanics, job-specific stretching & flexibility exercises.
Bullet  Validity-based test, matching essential job functions to prospective associate's level of function.

Functional Capacity Evaluations:

Bullet  Validity based functional examinations of an injured employee's maximum, safe level of function to determine return-to-work capability/fit for duty status.
Bullet  Determines job task matching for all essential functions; job specific testing.
Bullet  Examination will last three to four hours.
Bullet  Results called & faxed to designated nurse case managers, risk managers & treating physician.
Bullet  Can detect sub-maximal efforts by employees with alternative motives to returning to work.
Bullet  Results reported as VALID, Conditionally VALID, or INVALID.

Work Transition Assessment - Personal Prevention Training:

Bullet  On-site, one-to-one visit with previously injured associate upon return to work.
Bullet  Visit and assessment will include instruction in safe/proper body mechanics, alternation work methods, job specific stretching/exercises.
Bullet  Good tool for high-risk injury employees returning to work after rehabilitation, modified duty, etc.
Bullet  Also called Job Coaching

Ergonomic Assessment - Work Risk Analysis

Bullet  Identification of work risk factors as potential contributors to musculoskeletal injuries.
Bullet  Specific recommendations / abatements through weights, measures, ergonomic tool utilization and alternative designs / work flow patterns of workstations.
Bullet  Ergonomic Assessment tools used may include (but are not limited to) ASC-Z365, RULA, NIOSH Lift Equation, REBA etc. depending on job-type/ essential functions of job.
Bullet  Recommendations will include both ergonomic changes and implementation of administrative controls; when possible levels of recommendations will be from cost-effective to most expensive.

Consultation

Bullet  To perform case reviews, meet to discuss/plan for further injury prevention or intervention services.
Bullet  Participation in safety meetings, meetings with management, nurse case managers, etc.
Bullet  Meetings with treating physicians, coordinating care for your employees as needed with difficult cases.
Bullet  Completion of injury prevention projects / consultation time associated with such services.
